Hi Mark - Hugh Taylor let us know about your condition and we wish you all the best for a speedy transplant and recovery.
For the past few years the Pretenders have been picking a local charity and donating money raised after the season. We have supported the Heart & Stroke and Cancer foundations among others.
This year we had not yet decided on a charity but we would like to support your fight against kidney disease. Please let me know the kidney organization you feel does the best work and we'll donate the money raised to them this year. It won't be tons of money but every bit helps.

Hi, Tom
Sorry I took so long in getting back to you. I am really touched by the support the PGA is offering so I wanted to really think about where the money would be going. I've decided that because St. Paul's Hospital has been so good to and for me, I'd like you to consider making a donation to the St.
Paul's Hospital Foundation of Vancouver, specifically to the Kidney Clinic.
This is done fairly easily on-line with a huge number of options available.
You might be interested in the NEWS section where a video Pat and I did with the Province in November is featured. Meanwhile, just getting out the word on organ donation in general and live kidney donation in particular would be of tremendous help.
Again, please thank all the guys for me. I am truly touched.
All the best. And remember, in the words of Buddy Hackett, "You know you've had a good round when you haven't fallen out of the cart!"
Cheers

2010 Charity
Heart and Stroke Foundation
The most rewarding part of the 2010 season was the fact that with Lefty Sherk and Knuckles Garries (our two heart and stroke survivors) matching the funds we raised over the season we raised $2,000 for the H&S Foundation.
